Nicolas Aubin was one of the fastest rider on the dry layout on Saturday, as he placed his Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki in pole position during the free practice session and later runner up of the pre qualifying period! he continues on Sunday to rediscover his known pace after an unfortunate start to the season. Tenth of the opening race, Nico could expect an overall top ten result but he was involved in an incident after the second start and came last after one lap. Never giving up he charged hard to regain significant ranks and score a fifteenth position; twelfth of the GP.

In the 125 Junior series the first race took place on a muddy track due to the storm, and as many rivals Dylan Ferrandis retired with mud in the eyes. The layout was rough but mainly dry in the evening for the second heat that Dylan finished in eight ranks, a result that put in tenth in the standings with four more rounds to go where Dylan will for sure make some top finishes for his first year on the 125.

Next week-end the team will race the French elite championship in Ernee.

Nicolas Aubin:”I finished both timed practice sessions in the top two on Saturday, and i prove that my level is to be with the best MX1 riders. I was in the top ten at the start of the first race on Sunday but I struggled for the first fifteen minutes and lost several places; I got going later in the race when I found my rhythm and fought back to finish tenth. In the second race I collided with another rider at the second corner and damage my rear brake. Just a few metres after that incident I stalled the engine and that left me dead last. But I was enjoying the track, found good lines and came back to fifteenth at the finish. Today was my best result so far this season; I am feeling better each weekend and I am confident that I can continue to improve my results during the second half of the season”

Gregory Aranda: “I had surgery to my right foot two weeks ago, they put me a plate and some screws and during four more weeks I must stay quiet. I will have some exams soon with professor Dufour, he told me after the operation that I will not be able to ride a bike for several weeks. I hope I will be ready for the last GP of the season, but the main goal now is to be fit for the Supercross season, including Bercy and may be the European SX Championship and the French SX tour.”

Le Grand Prix de France organisé à Saint Jean d’Angely fut un énorme succès pour notre sport, avec une foule impressionnante venue encourager ses héros. L’ambiance qui régnait à Saint Jean est unique sur le circuit mondial, et a aidé les pilotes à donner le meilleur sur une piste exigeante suite à un violent orage dimanche matin.

Nicolas Aubin était l’un des plus rapides en piste samedi sur un tracé modifié et parfaitement sec ; la Kawasaki Rockstar Bud Racing pointait en première position au premier essai libre puis en seconde aux essais chronométrés, confirmant la forme du binôme. Nicolas allait partir dans le bon paquet en première manche, et après quelques tours difficiles, il trouvait son bon rythme pour aller accrocher une bonne dixième place. Ses espoirs de réaliser une bonne performance sur ce GP étaient annihilés peu après le second départ quand il se retrouvait dans un accrochage avec d’autres pilotes ; reparti bon dernier, il allait fait une remontée convaincante en quinzième position sur une piste de plus en plus défoncée. Douzième du GP, Nicolas sera le week-end prochain en Elite à Ernée (Mayenne).

Les pilotes 125 juniors n’ont pas été gâté puisque leur première manche dimanche s’est disputée sur une piste très grasse suite à l’orage matinal. Comme beaucoup de ses rivaux Dylan Ferrandis s’est rapidement retrouvé avec de la boue dans les yeux, et a été obligé d’abandonner. La seconde manche en fin de journée s’est elle disputée sur une piste détruite par toutes les courses, mais sur un sol sec ; huitième de la course, Dylan se retrouve dixième du championnat du monde junior 125 qui compte encore quatre courses au calendrier et ou il faudra compter sur Dylan pour nous faire de bons coups d'éclats.

Nicolas Aubin: « J’ai terminé les deux séances d’essais du samedi premier ou second ce qui confirme ma vitesse de pointe identique aux meilleurs pilotes du moment. Je suis parti dans le top dix en première manche, mais j’ai eu du mal à prendre un bon rythme d’entrée de jeu et j’ai perdu quelques places ; après un quart d’heure cela a été mieux et j’ai doublé plusieurs pilotes pour revenir dixième. Peu après le second départ je me suis accroché avec un autre pilote, j’ai touché une botte de paille ce qui a impacté le frein arrière. Au virage suivant j’ai calé, le temps de repartir et j’étais bon dernier. J’ai trouvé de bonnes trajectoires, j’ai pris un bon rythme et je me suis fait plaisir à rouler, avec une quinzième place à l’arrivée. Plus que le résultat lui-même, je suis content de la façon dont j’ai roulé et je sens que cela va de mieux en mieux. »

Gregory Aranda: « Ca me fait plaisir d’être la, ca fait du bien de voir un GP. Je suis bien sûr déçu de ne pas rouler car je commençais à être bien avant cette blessure, aujourd’hui je suis arrêté pour plusieurs semaines et quand je reviendrais je serais à 100%. Les médecins m’ont posé une plaque et six vis, ils ne m’ont pas plâtré pour avoir accès à la cicatrice ; je dois être six semaines sans marcher. J’ai rendez vous avec Olivier Dufour la semaine prochaine pour faire un bilan, on va reprendre progressivement et si je suis prêt pour le dernier GP je le ferais, mais le but est de faire une bonne saison de Supercross pour sauver la saison. »
