Brian European Champion !

Moving to the last round of the EMX125 leader of the series, Brian Moreau ‘did the job’ in Sweden where he claimed another win and also the 125 European title after the first race. It’s a great reward for Brian and his team Monster Energy Bud Racing, who took him under their awning a few years ago.

Coming to Uddevalla leading the series by 19 points, Brian was in a good position but also had to conclude this great season. He did it perfectly, even if he wasn’t at his best during the timed practice period where he posted the eighth fastest lap time. Due to a couple of showers during the week (and also the weekend) the track was slippery and rough, but Brian got a good start in the first race while his main rival for the title crashed in the first corner. Facchetti out, Brian had all the cards in his game to get the title in this first heat, and that’s what he did; when the race leader made a mistake Brian was there to take the lead and claim another heat win and this title as Haarup, his last opponent for the title only finished fifth.
After a good night Brian was relax on Sunday for the second heat, and after an average start he came back in second position to win the overall and end his 125 career on a high note. In the coming weeks Brian will start training on a 250 Kawasaki Monster Energy, to open a new chapter of his young career.

Brian Moreau: “It was a great weekend, and it was nice to get the title after the first race! I was only eighth in the practice session; I posted a good lap early in the session and was second, but then I wasn’t able to do a fastest lap. In the first race on Saturday I saw Facchetti on the ground in the first corner and I knew that I could get the title, that’s what I did after winning this race. My start in the second race was not as good, I wanted to have fun on my bike for my last 125 race; I came back second and won this GP. I missed a few titles in the past, and with this one I reach one of my dreams since I am a kid. I know that there will be some other steps in my career, now I just want to enjoy this title and thanks all the team which is behind me: Stephane, Thierry, Sebastien, the mechanics and all my family.”

Stephane Dasse: “We’re of course very happy, everything went perfectly to get the title after the first race; Brian rode very well, he was clever and didn’t do any mistakes. This year he made a lot of improvements mentally, he is strong now and even after the timed practice session he remains confident. Brian is with us since several years now, he was only 10 when he joined us and since the beginning we know that he has a huge potential; winning races is one thing, winning a championship is another one and you need a strong team around you. Brian know that, he listens to us and is confident and this title is a first stage. Now he will jump soon on a 250 KXF, that’s the next step and if everything goes well he will enter the last round of the European 250 Championship during the last round in Villars sous Ecot in one month.”
