Opening of the French SX TOUR Championship Podium for Anthony Bourdon !

Superb weather, a sold-out stadium and great battles all evening – all the conditions were in place to make the opening of the French SX Tour Championship in Clermont Ferrand a real success. After his victory last weekend in the Elite MX1 French Motocross Championship at Rauville la Place, Anthony Bourdon arrived in Auvergne determined to make the Bud Racing team’s colors shine for this 1st SX of the season in the 450 cm3 class.

Starting the day with the 6th fastest time, Anthony found his rhythm and progressed throughout the evening. With a good start in the semi-final, it didn’t take him long to take 1st place and hold on to it until the chequered flag. In the final, the scenario was identical. Anthony started in the leading pack before settling into the leader’s seat.
A solid performance

Particularly at ease on this demanding track, he put in some solid laps before seeing Josh Hill catch up with him. Despite his best efforts, Anthony succumbed to the American rider’s onslaught to finish 2nd. Victory may have been close, but it’s a fine podium finish and a big points tally to kick-start the season and build confidence a week ahead of the opening round of the World Supercross Championship.

Anthony Bourdon: “It was a good evening overall, as I won my semi-final. In the final, I got off to a good start and took the lead for a while before seeing Hill overtake me with 2 minutes to go. I have mixed feelings. I’m happy to be on the podium but a little disappointed to have broken down physically, because I think victory was possible. It’s still cool to start the season ahead of all the French drivers. We’ll keep on working to get stronger for the next few races“.

Stéphane Dassé: “Anthony is in a good mood after his victory at the Elite last week and his podium here in Clermont-Ferrand. This 2nd place in the 450 cm3 class ahead of some solid SX riders is a nice surprise. The training seems to be paying off. All we have to do now is keep up the good work. »
This Saturday, July 1, the Bud Racing team will be in Birmingham for the opening round of the World Supercross Championship. Anthony Bourdon and Adrien Escoffier will represent the team in the SX2 class, while Justin Hill and Cédric Soubeyras will compete in the SX1 class.

Justin HILL with Bud Racing for the WSX World Supercross Championship 2023

After a successful year in supercross in 2022, the Bud Racing Kawasaki Team is back for another year in the WSX World Supercross Championship, which begins July 1st in Birmingham.

With two Frenchmen, an American and an Australian, the team finished third in the 250cc championship and scored top five finishes in the 450cc class, so you can imagine that the team is determined to do at least as well in 2023. The championship will feature no less than 6 events around the world (Birmingham UK, Lyon FR, Asia, Dusseldorf DE, Vancouver CA, Melbourne AU).

For this the Bud Racing Kawasaki team announced a few weeks ago the renewal of the contract of the six-time French supercross champion, Cedric Soubeyras. Runner-up to Marvin Musquin at the 2021 Paris Supercross, Cedric is eager to compete again with the rest of the world’s riders and show what he can do.

His team-mate in the 450cc class will be the American Justin Hill, former 250 AMA supercross champion. He’s eager to get back on the Kawasaki that had previously worked so well for him, as he won 8 AMA Supercross races on this bike and was the last Kawasaki rider to win an AMA 250 Supercross championship. This will be a first one for the American in the WSX World Championship who is currently in the top 10 of the premier class in the American championship and who continues to improve with each race (7th in Detroit).

Stay tuned for the names of the riders who will represent us in 250, they should be revealed very soon.

THREE CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR BUD RACING KAWASAKI IN 2023

Created in 2007, Team Bud Racing Kawasaki has always been invested successfully in several championships every year. With the support of its partners, no less than three championships are on our 2023 program, which will be officially launched on March 5th with the opening round of the French Elite championship.

After winning its twentieth title last year, Team Bud Racing Kawasaki is back racing with riders involved in no less than three championships: the French Elite, the 250 European Motocross and the World Supercross without forgetting some prestigious events such as the Paris Supercross or beach races. A strong program for the team supported since its beginning by Kawasaki, and which revealed in the past young talents such as Marvin Musquin, Dylan Ferrandis or Brian Moreau to name a few. Three riders will defend our colors in the French championship: Quentin Prugnières (17 years old) who is doing his fifth season with us and Benjamin Garib (18 years old) will line up in the MX2 class while Anthony Bourdon (24 years old) will compete in MX1. In the European 250 Championship we will line up Quentin and Benjamin, a young Chilean rider who start racing in the United States where he was spotted by Stéphane Dassé. All three riders have joined Thierry Van Den Bosch, our coach since several years, to go back training and working their fitness since last month.

Stéphane Dassé: “Competition has always been in our heart, and even if times are a bit tough we are still motivated to compete in all these championships. We will race the European 250 again this year, although the increase number of races and travel complicates the deal, now we’ve eleven rounds in the EMX and it’s getting complicated for the teams to combine with national championships ! Quentin is contesting his last season in this championship and after some good performances last year he is expected to fight for victory. He must do one more step to win, be a little faster in qualifying to have good positions behind the grid and make good starts. This championship is always very strong, I know that physically he is ready, it’s up to him to play! As for Benjamin, he will discover a new world, new tracks, he has good potential and we hope to see him closer to the top 5 through the season. Regarding the World Supercross, it’s a very big potential and interesting championship, we already signed Cédric Soubeyras who is the best in Europe actually and we are finalizing our contacts with his three teammates, which will be revealed soon.

Hat tricks for team Bud Racing at Paris SX

Team 9MM Bud Racing Kawasaki had an amazing weekend in Paris, as Chris Blose and Matt Moss won all the SX2 races at the 39th Supercross of Paris in front of 40000 fans!

Paris is ‘magic’ and will stay for sure for many more years! For its 39th edition the event was a great one, after two difficult years due to the Covid; the Paris la Defense Arena was full during the two days of racing, and for all the members of the team this 2022 edition will have forever a special taste.

Coming to Paris with three riders all involved in the SX2 class, with our regular WSX contenders Chris Blose and Matt Moss both used to Supercross but also with Quentin Prugnières after his good MX season, the team was the main animator of the SX2 class on both days.

On Saturday it was ‘Chris night’ as our American rider won the three races to lead the ‘Prince of Paris’ classification. Unfortunately for him the second day will not be as good (5/4/19), due to a crash at the start of the second race and another crash in the final race.

At the bottom of the podium on Saturday after three strong races (6/4/4) Matt Moss was ‘on fire’ on Sunday as he won the three races to get this prestigious title of ‘Prince of Paris’ ahead of Jace Owen and Chris Blose in third. Matt was so happy and demonstrative after the race that the entire stadium was noisy to cheer him! And to end the weekend on a perfect note, Quentin Prugnières who was racing his first SX since last year ends the last race in third, improving his results all weekend long (10/9/9 the first night, and then15/7/3).

With six starts and six wins, with two riders on the final podium including the winner, with noisy and enthusiast fans supporting our riders, with happy partners who came to visit us this weekend, the 39th Supercross ends the 2022 season on a high note.
