Brian Moreau wins Hossegor Beach race

Hossegor is a familiar venue for Brian Moreau, as he is based with his team Bud Racing Monster Kawasaki in this city and this year again he won the round of the Beach Race series for his last race of the season.

Motocross, Supercross and beach races, Brian Moreau is an eclectic rider! After the MX season and two Supercross experiences, he was involved in the fourth round of the Beach race series aboard the same 250 KXF Bud racing. The Bud technicians just put a bigger tank to have a minimum of pit stops, and changed the transmission for this one hour and a half race. Brian took a good start on the beach, but during the first lap he crashed when he went on a soft sandy section losing a couple of seconds and some positions. Coming back second after a few laps he later joined the race leader and passed him before mid race. As his main rival run out of fuel the second part of the race was easier for Brian who controlled the pack to win the race thirty-seven seconds ahead of his closest opponent. It was the last race of the season for team Bud Racing, who will now prepare the MX2 World Championship as Brian Moreau and Brian Hsu will enter the first GP in Argentina on March 10th.

Brian Moreau: “It’s great to win here in Hossegor where the team is based, and also great to win this race for the second year in a row. At the beginning of the race the track was flat and fast, it wasn’t easy to make the difference but later it was rougher and better for me. During the first hour the weather was OK, but then we had a shower and I had to stop in the pits to take new goggles. I came here without any specific preparation, as I did a break after the season but now we won’t stop working and training to prepare next season.”

Jace Owen won the SX2 class at the Paris SX

As every year team Monster Bud Racing Kawasaki moved to the Paris Supercross with a strong line up, as this event is the main one in Europe. Wearing for the first time the colours of the team American Jace Owen was impressive, as he won both days of racing to become the new ‘Prince of Paris’ while Brian Moreau took a sixth overall.

It’s a tradition for the team to invite an American rider to race in Paris, and for his first visit to the French capital Jace Owen didn’t missed this opportunity to shine as he dominates the SX2 class. Discovering the track and his 250 Kawasaki BUD during the practice session, Jace got a perfect start in the first heat to celebrate his first success of the weekend; runner up in the second race, Jace got another holeshot in the main event and led the entire race to win the first night in Paris. Fastest rider on the track in the practice session on Sunday Jace started with a second position in the first race, won the second and dominates the main event as he led the race during eleven laps; then he secured his overall win and the ‘Prince of Paris’ title with a second position.

After a brilliant race at the Monster Cup one month ago, Brian Moreau show again his skills in Supercross during this event. Fifth in the practice session Brian got the holeshot in the first final and scored a top five, and again finished fifth in the main event. He was not as strong on Sunday, but he scores twice a top eight result to finish the weekend sixth overall. Third rider racing for Monster Bud Racing in Paris Tyler Bowers raced the SX1 class; only eighteen on Saturday, he scored a top ten on Sunday.

Stéphane Dasse: “It was a great weekend for us, especially for Jace Owen who won both nights; he got great starts, ride well and we’re happy to give him a chance to race here in Paris. Brian scored a sixth position, with good races on Saturday but on Sunday he was tired; after the Monster Cup he made a break and then as it was raining in South West he could only practice Supercross a few days in Spain. Brian Hsu was back training one month ago; he is fit for Motocross but also missed SX training so we decided that he would not race here. Everyone in the team had a great weekend in Paris, we met as usual many partners, fans and friends.”

Las Vegas Monster Cup experience for Brian Moreau

It’s a kind of reward that Stephane Dasse offered to Brian Moreau when he offer the 16 years old French kid to race his first ever official race in the USA soil for the famous Monster energy cup in Las Vegas. For his first race, the BUD racing Monster Kawasaki rider showed a good speed and adaptation to the US life.

The Monster cup format is very different from the races we are used to do in Europe, and Brian learned a lot this weekend among the best Amateur 250 All star American riders. With one free practice and two qualifying sessions during the afternoon and two 6 laps races during the night show. During the afternoon, Brian was at the top for the time practice and posted the fastest qualifying time during the two session combined that will allow Brian to enter in pole position for the first race of the night.

From his pole position on the gate Brian got a mid pack start in the first race but fight hard all moto along to come back to 4th position. He got a much better start for the second race and was 3rd but Brian did not get a good rhythm and became too tight on the bike, he battle during all the race to stay on the podium position but got passed and finally finished 4th again in the second race, giving a 4/4 result for the first appearance at the Monster cup. It was a very good experience during this week-end but also during the week prior to the race as Brian could practice with the best Amateur American riders and some pro Stars like Marvin Musquin, Adam Cianciarulo, Tyler Bowers, Malcolm Stewart…
